What is BTD6?
Bloons Tower Defense 6 (or BTD6 for short) is a Tower Defence game developed by Ninja Kiwi and released 6 years ago on June 14th, 2018. The premise is simple. You place monkeys to pop the bloons, buy upgrades to fend off stronger bloons, and ultimately win when you reach the end without letting too many bloons get through. There are 24 towers in the game split into 4 groups, each tower with cross paths and 15 upgrades that make each one unique. There are towers called Heroes that have 20 upgrades on a single path but slowly upgrade themselves over the game (most max out by r100) and Monkey Knowledge to go from basic changes to game-changing effects.
It has various game modes and over 40 maps, leading to hundreds of hours of content on its own. There are other things to do in the game however, like see how little money it takes to beat the hardest of challenges or what the most absurd combination of only 2 towers is needed to beat CHIMPS mode. It has an active community on consoles, mobile devices, and on PC to play Co-op or join a team to play contested territory. There are also boss bloons, special community-made maps, and challenges to check out each day. Some YouTubers have dedicated most if not all of their channel to BTD6, like Ethan Reid.
The game itself is updated often enough to give players new content to play with, from new balance changes new maps to new paragons to achievements to new heroes to the occasional new tower. It has gotten 44 updates or 123 total patches. It’s cheap and goes on sale from time to time, you could purchase BTD6 for less than a dollar if a good sale is on. There is only one thing that could be considered P2W in the game, but it’s something that you can just switch on if you want the raw experience. They are also working on official mod support for the game, but for now, it’s best to mod the game on an alt account as if you do it on your main account, you’ll be flagged and prevented from playing online.
