Like ogres and onions, a musical production has a lot of layers. Thursday, the cast of Shrek the Musical tackled the first layer of many rehearsals to come. Entering the drama room you would see a buzzing group of people, excitedly preparing for their first read through. People lined up to pick up their scripts, and flipped through the pages to highlight their lines. Nothing beats the joyful anticipation of the amazingly fun show to come.

“I am most excited to hang out with friends all the time, and just have a super fantastic time”,  says Senior, Calvin Barnes.

“I am most nervous about costumes and costume changes, as well as the vocal challenge this show is gonna bring me. But I’m really excited about the whole show, and the acting. It’s gonna be really really fun,” says Bowen Maxson, who will be playing Shrek.

“I’m excited to have fun with friends, and to see what everyone does with their characters. Also, all the free food that’s provided,”  says cast member,  Abby Hughes.

This show is going to be a lot of work but also a lot of fun. Be sure to keep up with the behind the scenes, and show up for the final product in November 14-16!
